The courtyard
A small garden with hanbok and rubber shoes for photos.

Bukchon Hanok Village · Seoul
Wooden rafters, an earthen ceiling, a courtyard open to the sky. One group at a time, in the heart of Bukchon Hanok Village.
“Sit in the courtyard, and let the afternoon go slowly.”
Kan (間) is the space between pillars in a hanok — the emptiness that makes room to rest. We restored the house where we grew up so you could have that room too.
The House

A small garden with hanbok and rubber shoes for photos.

1 queen bed, with its own shower, toilet and powder room.

2 queen beds in soft linen under an earthen ceiling, with its own bath.
A Day Here

A walk up the stone lanes to Samcheong Park and the Jeongdok Library garden.

Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Insa-dong and Ikseon-dong, all on foot.

Sunset over a sea of tiled roofs, then back to the courtyard.

Lamplight through paper doors, and the stillness of wood and earth.
